Club Development Over the past 12 months the rugby club and LGC Eagles have been working very closely with Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation on plans to develop the playing facilities at the club. We are pleased to announce that very shortly the Heritage Foundation will be submitting a planning application to North Herts District Council to support the following:
- A floodlit first XV Pitch This development will significantly enhance the provision that exists at the club on training and match days; it will also help the club to play a very full part in the development of rugby in Hertfordshire. When the planning application has been submitted, it is vitally important we as a club show our support for the scheme. There are no guarantees the application will be successful but by writing to NHDC with letters of support, we can play our part in promoting the massive difference these developments will make. Information relating to how we do this will be circulated as soon as we have further details so keep logging on and lets all help to make these plans a reality. New Web Pages There are new pages for the 4th team and for the Clubs Policies and Administration, the new links are below. New buttons in the main menu will appear soon. Club Policies and Administration How to use the Diary section On of the major aims of the new site it to have a thorough Diary of all events that are taking place in, around and involving the club. Liz Briggs has kindly stepped up to run this section of the site and we would ask that you contact her with details of any event that you would like adding. In particular, we would ask a representative of each team to let Liz know all results (scores only, please), so that we can provide a complete season's record. Any match reports that people want to create will not be dealt with by Liz, but will go to someone else and you will be advised who that is, as soon as that has been decided. If you want to see earlier Diary entries (such as previous match results), scroll to the top inside the Diary section and click on the link that appears. Here we will have details of previous match results, or you can do the same in each Team's page. Each entry in the Diary Section does have the facility to add additional information. You can access this by clicking on the entry itself, which opens up the extra details. Click on “Map” and another window opens in Google Maps with the picture centred on the clubhouse of the home team. The white box that points to the clubhouse allows you to get directions to it from wherever you want. To do so, click on the “To Here” link and enter where you want to start your journey from. You can then print out a map with step-by-step directions of how to get there. For those with Sat Nav, we are looking to add the home club's postcode along with the oppositions web site address. Please note though, that whilst every care has been taken to provide accurate information as to the location of the clubs, I or the club would not like to be held responsible for any errors in navigation based upon the information given. Please do check any directions given before commencing your journey. Acko |
